This is the candidate two. Tele-type china product. Surprisingly good quality for the money. Tässä vaihtoehto kaksi uudeksi projektiksi. Tele-tyyppinen Kiinan tuote. Yllättävän hyvää laatua siihen rahaan.

OK, so this is one of the three kits that I bought from China. Oh, you thought that there will be no updates in this blog. You were wrong. I,m back. Now I am thinking which project of the three one I will take for the next one. I will show you the three options. This is the first one. There are some ugly things and very poor job quality in this set so I don't know if I do this or sell it if someone wants to buy it. Let's see. In a few following day I will show you the two other choices that are Tele- and Strato- type of sets. No niin, tässäpä yksi Kiinasta ostamiani kitarakittejä. Mitä, luulit ettei tätä blogia enää päivitetä. Olit väärässä. Olen täällä taas. Funtsin tässä että minkä kolmesta projektistani otan työn alle seuraavaksi. Esittelen sinulle kolme vaihtoehtoa. Tämä on niistä ensimmäinen. Tässä rakennussarjassa on paikka paikoin surkeaa työn jälkeä ja rumasti tehtyä työtä joten en tiedä viitsinkö rakentaa tätä valmiiksi vai yritänkö myydä tämän edelleen (jos joku on kiinnostunut) mutta katsotaan. Lähipäivinä näet kaksi muuta vaihtoehtoa jotka ovat Tele- ja Strato- tyyppiset rakennussarjat.

Lopullinen LP

Olinko siis unohtanyt kuvat valmiista LP:sta. Näin pitkän aikaa siitä kun kitara valmistui ja en muista. (en unohtanut. Joku fiba serverillä oli hukannut ne) En nyt niitä täältä kuitenkaan löytänyt ja tääsäpä nyt muutama kuva tarjolla. So, did I forget to put the pictures from the final product in here. Such a long time since the guitar was ready and I don't remember. (No, I did not. Some failure in server lost them) Well, I didn't find them here any more so I'll put few photos here again.

Hups. Aikaa on kulunut.

Miten se aika kuluukaan. Tele-projekti on ollut jäissä mutta olen hankkinut kolme rakennussarjaa joista pitäisi saada kitarat aikaiseksi. Strato, Tele ja LP-malliset rakennussarjat rakensi kittivaiheeseen Kiinalainen firma nimeltä Sunsmile ja tarkoitus olisi että minä saatan projektit loppuun. Ei valokuvia vielä mutta tulossa on. Varsinkin LP-kitissä on paljon sanomista. Halkeamia rungossa ja kaula on asetettu liian korkealle runkoon nähden. Saas nähdä kannattaako sitä ryhtyä edes tekemään.

Oops how the time passes by. My Telecaster project has been freezed for a while but instead of that I've bought three guitar kits which are waiting for available time for starting to built them. Stratocaster, Telecaster and LP-style of kits. Those are products of Chinese factory called Sunsmile. No photos yet but some are coming. Especially the LP-kit is very poor in condition. Cracks found in body and the neck seating is done awfully. The neck is in too high position. Let's see if it is even worth of building.

Kompensaatio

Tallan kompensointi tehty. Otin koiran kaluamasta luusta siivun ja asensin sen sopivasti muotoiltuna tallan viereen. Vire on nyt "melko hyvä".

Suunnitteilla Telen tyyppinen projekti.

The compensation is done. I took the bone from my dog and molded a small piece of it to became compensation saddle. The tuning settles now much more better.

Tekele alkaa muistuttaa kaukaisesti kitaraa kun kaula on yhdistetty bodyyn. After joining the neck to the body it is beginning to remind a guitar.


Kaula on liimattu kiinni ja petsi pinnassa. The neck is glued and the colour is set.



Hiottu lapa.



Lapa lakattuna. Valitan hyvin kapeaa syväterävyyttä kuvassa. The machine head is lacquered. I'm sorry for very narrow sharpness at the picture.



Tässä body on saanut pintaansa lakkaa. Sitä sitten yritetään saada tasaiseksi hiomalla sillä tammessa on hurjat huokoset. Lakka uppoaa niihin ja kuivuessaan menee montulle. Liekö tein virheen kun valitsin nitroselluloosalakan sillä huokosten kohdalla lakka rupeaa kuivuessaan halkeilemaan. Neljä viikkoa lakkauksen jälkeen kiillotusta yritettäessä halkeamat tulee todella hyvin esiin ja niitä on paljon. Yritän hyvin ohueksi ohennetulla lakalla paikata halkeamia umpeen mutta jos homma ei onnista niin vedän koko projektin takaisin puupinnalle ja aloitan alusta.

Over here the body also is lacquered. I'm trying to get the surface smooth by sanding it. The oak har very deep groves and the lacquer goes in those holes and when dry it is sucked and the surface is not so smooth. Also the cracks appear to the surface when the nitrolaquer dries. Did I make a wrong choise with the lacquer? Four weeks from putting the lacquer and when trying to polish the surface, the cracks are so bad that I must try to get rid of them by lacquering the surface again with thinned nitrolacque. If this doesn't help I must sad it to the woods and start again from the biginning.



Näin siis epätoivo ja kauhu kasvavat kun yritän tunkea halkeamiin lisää lakkaa. Nitroselluloosalakkahan on semmoista että se sulattaa edellistä kerrosta päälle lakattaessa ja ainakin teoriassa paikkaukset on mahdollista saada näkymättömiin. Tasaisen pinnan saaminen paikkauskohtiin saattaa vaatia kärsivällisyyttä. Aika näyttää löytyykö sitä.

Desperation and horror are increasing while I'm adding thinned lacquer in to the cracks. As you might know this nitrostuff melts earlier layers and, at least in theory, it is possible to make fixings like this so that afterwards there is no visible marks left that the area is fixed. for getting the fixed area even and smooth might need patience . . . We'll see if I've got it.
